Your privacy
What this website collects, why, and the choices you have. Last updated October 2026.
Who I am
This website is run by Jamie Simpson, Sales Representative with Rideau Realty Limited, Brokerage, 2790 Hwy 15, Portland, ON K0G 1V0. Questions about your information can go to me at jsimpson@thefedorarealtor.ca or 613-485-1413.
What I collect
- What you send me. When you fill in a form, I receive the details you enter, such as your name, email, phone number and message.
- Mailing list. If you join, I keep your name, email address, and the date and way you gave consent.
- Website analytics. Google Analytics records which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (city level), the type of device, and how they arrived, including tags on QR codes and links. It doesn't tell me who you are.
Cookies
This site uses Google Analytics cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) to count visits. If you're visiting from Quebec, Europe or the UK, they're set only after you click Accept on the cookie notice. Elsewhere, they're on by default. Wherever you are, you can turn them off any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page; the site works the same either way. Your choice is saved in your browser. A small cookie (tf_geo) records only which of those two groups your visit falls in, based on your approximate location; it holds no other information.
Booking a time
The "Book a call" and other booking buttons open my booking pages on Google Calendar, which are covered by Google's privacy policy. What you enter there (your name, email, phone number and your answers) goes to my calendar and my private client database, so I can prepare for our conversation. Booking a time doesn't sign you up for my mailing list.
Maps
When you open a map of a town or lake, the map is loaded from Google Maps, which is covered by Google's privacy policy. Nothing loads from Google Maps until you open one.
How I use it
- To reply to you and help with your real estate needs.
- To send the mailing list, only if you've agreed to receive it.
- To understand which pages are useful and improve the site.
I don't sell or rent your information. I may share it with my brokerage, Rideau Realty Limited, Brokerage, where needed to provide real estate services and meet our legal record-keeping obligations.
Where it's kept
Form and mailing list details are stored in my private client database, hosted on Amazon Web Services in Canada, and a copy of each form is emailed to me so I can reply quickly. Google Analytics data is processed by Google and may be stored outside Canada. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Email and unsubscribing
Every email from my mailing list includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask me directly. I'll remove you promptly, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you, or withdraw your consent, by emailing jsimpson@thefedorarealtor.ca.
